It's preferred if the Freelancer has the electronics skills and English communication skills to discuss future improvements, also relating to CE certification, and the will to take on future projects with this PCB. The projects now look the same on the surface, but much of the details remain to sort out. The import tool has been run and the work of verifying designators and symbols has been started. Exports to OrCAD, Allegro, Altium, PADS, Eagle, KiCad, Diptrace & Pulsonix. Note: There's already a start of the conversion. Importing 3d models from KiCAD to FreeCAD. The Wizard walks you through the import process, handling both the schematic and PCB parts of the project, as well as managing the relationship between them. Find KiCAD library symbols/footprints and recreate missing ones. The Import Wizard ( File Import Wizard) will quickly and easily convert your design files from other vendors to Altium Designer files. The work includes: Using the same designators and net names and making sure all parts are connected. CAD routing is not necessary to do, since any future work will require the routing to be changed anyway. The CAD footprints, layout and outline will also be identical. The resulting KiCAD project will have identical schematics. Download schematic symbols, PCB footprints, pinout & datasheets for the BK/AGW-4 by Eaton. It's a conventional four-layer PCB with two power planes. The attached BOM contains almost all components. The PCB also has two RGB LEDs, battery management, barometer, GPS module with active antenna detection, speaker and a few other features. How to install KiCad and freeCAD, import symbols, import footprints. The PCB has a MCU that receives data from two SPI radio modules and relays the data to USB, Ethernet and Bluetooth for further processing on a PC. As Thomas himself points out in the patch submission, this is hardly the first time a 3rd party Altium importer has been published. Since we will do all future work in KiCAD, this project needs to be converted to KiCAD 6.0. Well as of April 3rd 2020, Thomas Pointhuber has merged the beginnings of a native Altium importer into KiCad which looks to be slated for the 6.0 release.
